Architecture for Dogs

(all’angolo della NE 2nd Avenue).

Dog houses re-thought! The project called “Architecture for Dogs” springs from the fertile mind of Muji’s Creative Director, Kenya Hare, and his team. The idea was to find a new way to define traditional canine architecture – dog houses – in such a way as to enrich the lives of dogs and their owners.
The images above, especially those of the “Chihuahua Cloud”, emphasize the attempt to rethink doggy shelters in terms of portable constructs that can protect our animals from the elements without posing a geographical limit to their lives. “Just take it with you!” would seem to be the theme being explored here.
Many interesting and beautiful things appear on the project site – (here) – but if you have the chance you really ought to go take a look at the show. It will open on December 5th in Miami, Florida, at the “Miami Design District” – 180 NE 39th St. Unit 112 (at the corner of NE 2nd Avenue).
